FBA Labels Prints to PDF even wtih Thermal Printer

I use a variety of the Zebra LP 2844 thermal printers for my FBA business.
Previously, I would use the "Label Items" feature (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/ssof/sns/label-items.html) to generate FNSKU labels. When pressing "Print", it would open the print dialogue and allow me to print directly to my thermal printers. Amazon has since discontinued the "Label Items" service.
I am now asked to go to my inventory, find the item I want, and then click the "Print Item Labels" which opens up a new page where I can specify the thermal printer dimensions. Great! But the issue is that this still generates a PDF which I then have to open separately and print the labels on my thermal printer which is 3 steps too many. The page states "For thermal printers, the labels will be printed automatically" - but this is not the case.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot?

Dominic from Amazon here, happy to help. Is this during the Send to Amazon workflow? In the normal process you should be able to Print Labels in Step 3: Send to Amazon: Print box labels.
Is there another area you are getting stuck at the above doesn't cover.

I'm having the same issue. The new process takes 3X as long and requires saving and then printing a PDF file for every FNSKU. Please bring back Scan and Label.
