I have started to buy Amazon shipping when shipping to an apartment or an unknown street address. We have taken major hits when the buyer says they did not get it or it arrived damaged. How does buying shipping from Amazon help or protect you from these claims? What happens if you package the item well and the buyer still says it arrived damaged but gives you no information to file a claim but still wants a refund or replacement order? I have had a buyer request a replacement and once it has shipped file an A to Z claim. So they get two free items and a refund?

Buy shipping, if you shipped ON TIME and the package was scanned IN THE HANDS of the post office within the ship by window, protects you from item not received claims. If a buyer states they didn't get the package, you tell them to open an A-Z claim and Amazon will handle it.

Any buyer wanting a refund or replacement without return, scams you. You ALWAYS tell the buyer to please open a return request and a refund will be issued upon return. You should NEVER send replacements, if a buyer wants a replacement you should direct them to re-purchase the product. With the exception of a replacement order showing up marked as such, in your awaiting shipment. This comes when a buyer opted for replacement and they will be charged for it if they fail to return the first product.
