Remeasure & FBA Fee Reimbursement Appeal

Hello,

I opened a case to correct product dimensions with remeasurement and seek reimbursement. Initial remeasure found a change to the dimensions that proves we were overcharged on FBA fulfillment fees. Despite remeasurement resulting in a lower fee, support claims no reimbursement resulted. I reopened the case to request review of the provided details, including a breakdown of fee differences before and after remeasurement, with screenshot for reference. Afterwards, the next response from support referenced the dimensions from before the remeasure, followed with another response saying reimbursement request was denied, and reopening the case would not change the outcome.

Looking at the now current product dimensions, the dimensions are even lower than what the first remeasure found, yet somehow the fee reimbursement isn't being honored.

Can we please get some assistance with this? All of the information is there to prove we were overcharged, so this is quite frustrating. @Bryce_Amazon@KJ_Amazon

Good Afternoon @Seller_7qyIBLnwn8Wlz,

I have a final update regarding your remeasured product and the associated fees. At this time, it has been determined that the product is still within the same tier with both measurements hence the denial of reimbursement you have been seeing on CASE ID 14825573301. You may reference this FBA fulfillment fee help page for additional context behind the decision.

I know this is not the news that you were hoping for but at least we were able to have multiple teams thoroughly review the case. Feel free to let us know if you have any additional questions regarding the outcome of this case.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

Good Morning @Seller_7qyIBLnwn8Wlz,

I wanted to reach out to you regarding your remeasurement and reimbursement appeal.

The team has reviewed the history of the product and determined the FNSKU has had consistent measurements overtime which is why the ASIN is not eligible for reimbursement at this time.

Amazon collects the historical measurements of a product in which we use that information to determine if reimbursement is needed. In this instance your dimensions have been consistent until recently when the dimensions were smaller. This indicates the odd measurement out is the new one which means it doesn't count as evidence that the previous measurements were incorrect.

If you have updated your dimensions, the dimensional history should update and if there are any future issue, you may be eligible for reimbursement. It is important that your product dimensions are consistent and identical between units to ensure that your fees are correct.

I do acknowledge the outcome of this investigation is difficult news to hear. Additional supporting information can be found on the Dimensional Weight help page and the FBA fees reimbursement policy help page.

Thank you for understanding.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

@Cooper_Amazon, I have a follow up question about this.

You mentioned the latest smaller measurement is the "odd measurement" since it's smaller than the two previous measurements. The new measurement is therefore disregarded and the seller is stuck with high FBA fees.

My question: If a seller fixed a packaging problem and sends in new inventory with the same SKU but that has improved packaging and measures smaller, how can the seller get Amazon to accept this new measurement and reduce the product tier / fees?

Thanks!
