Crazy influx of customers wanting refunds for DELIVERED orders

This issue is related to USPS/FEDEX/UPS tracking errors, where USPS does not SCAN the item on some, and others the packages are actually delivered... And the customer sends a message stating, INR... Yet i have a PHOTO OF THE ITEM AT YOUR FRONT DOOR.. their excuse is always "well tracking did not show it was delivered" ... IT WAS/IS ON YOUR PORCH... is this just a new scam going on? are customers exploiting this tracking issue.. as when i order from amazon, i NOTICE THE PACKAGE and i don;t reach out to the seller and try to get a refund just because the tracking info shows NOT delivered but the PACAKGE is in my HAND.

When i ask, well where did it go? they say, well i just didnt see it.. well HOW.. it was put between the screen door and front door.. what PORCH pirate is going to steal an envelope from your porch? this is just incredible.. more examples of amazon customers using your time and money for their shopping addiction of TRY BEFORE YOU BUY, 30 DAY RENTAL.

every single morning we are getting messages like this, and it has never happened like this before .. it is making NO sense... and this has dropped our VTR to 88% .. yet we have a 100% OTDR.. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE????

Someone is selling you product elsewhere, maybe Temu, Aliexpress and possibly even Amazon, they then buy it from you and then ask for a Refund or do an A to Z claim.

My reply lately has been "please contact your local post office for assistance with your package" and I'd say 95% of them never respond after that. I think people are figuring out that they can just say "I didn't get my package" and Amazon will refund their money. It's getting out of hand.

Cant tell you how many times this happens to us. Probably once every two weeks. And then lots of time they will just simply open an A-Z and get auto refunded.

I try to report customers who are fraudulently asking for refunds. We use UPS in order to get picture proof of delivery, and honestly, even with the picture, they still claim they didn’t receive the package. I respond by telling them, “You did receive your package—here is a picture with proof of delivery.” They never respond after that, but they still click the "My issue is not resolved" button. It’s absurd how these customers can scam sellers on Amazon.

The uptick is massive

287% higher rate of return fraud and INR's for us when compared to Q1 of last year.

The customer base here is becoming increasingly rotten.

I am an FBM seller of 9 years here and I cannot believe what I am seeing in terms of return requests, INR claims, partial refund requests, and fraud.

I had a potential customer call me racist slurs because I did not respond to their message to us looking for a 35% discount on a product, this is not eBay.

We recommend to inform buyers to track orders within the Amazon app versus the carrier website.

Lastly, please don't hesitate to reassure buyers that if a package truly doesn’t deliver, they can submit an A-to-z claim to be refunded. If a customer submits an A-to-z claim, we’ll automatically fund the buyer reimbursement. The customer-reported claim shouldn't be counted against your order defect rate as long as it was shipped on time using a ship method marked as “Claims protected” on Amazon Buy Shipping.
