Cosmetic products restricted due to Health Canada (DIN/NPN)
I am trying my best to understand the current issue with Health Canada.
Amazon has restricted around 17 of our cosmetic products due to "This product has been identified as Natural Health Product (NHP) or DIN and it is subject to the provisions of the (FDA) and its regulations. "
However upon closer investigation of our products and ingredients we do not fall under the DIN or NHP. In fact we are selling cosmetics and we have contacted Health Canada through the agency to help us apply and follow the regulations! The Health Canada provided us with cosmetics number and the agency let us know that we can not get the DIN or NPN (it has to be taken through the mouth or the ingredient substances should reach specific amount). Both are not our cases.
We have also made our labels in English and French, provided cosmetics number, even provided the explanation letter from the agency to support the claim that the cosmetics we sell does not fall under the mentioned case.
Could anybody of the sellers or maybe the managers if any are here help me with this Health Canada issue? How can we solve this issue once and for all?? Please help!

Had the same happen to me. Not sure if this is still helpful. While your ingredients may be compliant with NHP it is very much in the wording you use to describe your product and its benefits on label and online, including Amazon listing or your website. You have to abide by Health Canada's "allowed wording and descriptions" for NHP to describe the benefits of your products. You can find the guidelines online.

A couple of reasons for this issue. Topical products like sunscreens, hand sanitizers, diaper rash, acne products, for example, are natural health products or drugs. Another reason may be the claims you are making that are considered drug or natural health product (eg. helps reduce blemishes, reduces itchiness) are not allowed on cosmetics. We worked with Quality Smart Solutions to help us with our compliance issues. One of our friends who sold on Amazon and got delisted we referred them to them and they wrote a letter for them.
