Amazon won't let me fix incorrect detail page; it now conflicts with MSDS submission
As we all know, when Amazon created the Brand Registry years ago, they added every single brand in the existing catalog to the registry. 95% of these brands didn't know and didn't care. They're too busy making stuff to manage retailer listings on Amazon.
The problem is, of course, that Amazon now only lets brand owners correct bad info on detail pages. This is the single most frustrating and counterproductive aspect of doing business on Amazon. I want the catalog to be clean and correct, but they keep letting randos add false information to listings, all while prohibiting me from correcting them. There are several dozen products I've had to stop selling on the platform because of this stupidity.
But now it's hitting me in one of my top sellers. Someone—it wasn't me, and I'm the one who created the listing on Amazon!—has said my product is "battery powered". The word "battery" now appears four times in the product details.
This, of course, triggered a hazmat review, and the MSDS asks: "Are batteries sold with the product or is the product a battery?". The answer is, of course, NO. But Amazon keeps kicking it back saying, "Well, the detail page says YES, so you need to submit a form that matches the detail page".
I could submit a false MSDS, but then I'm stuck if I ever want to correct this info, and I certainly can't give any details about a non-existent battery. What I really need to do is correct the detail page. I don't see any easy way out.
Has anyone ever just submitted a false MSDS and moved along with their lives?

Hi there @Seller_UOf5xHNi3VhCL,
In general I would recommend that you do not provide inaccurate MSDS documentation to Amazon. If you would like if you provide your most recent Seller Support Case on this detail page information you can't change and I can see what I can do to escalate the issue. In general you will still need to provide manufacturer's proof that the information is incorrect. Thank you for your understanding.

Sorry—this response just shows ignorance of the process. NO ONE GETS TO MAKE CHANGES. Literally no suggested changes or corrections are allowed. I've tried—no exaggeration—hundreds of times, often on listings that I created in the first place. No luck. Even when I'm correcting obviously false information. The title says "black" but the picture is of the white one. I want to update the picture. Amazon says, "Your eyes clearly deceive you—this is the black one we're displaying, and we won't make a change until the nonexistent brand owner asks us to". (that was, by the way, a real interaction I've had like 5 times)
I understand that this thread was about something else entirely, but you're kind enough to respond, so I'll take it this direction. Voice of the Customer? It's *useless*, because all the "make sure your detail page is accurate" recommendations can't be acted on. Sellers are held accountable for incorrect detail pages, but then prevented from fixing them. That's just plain stupid, and it costs Amazon money and customer credibility.
