Bogus Return Request. Any options for me the seller
I got a pre-authorized return request on a new sealed dvd on Asbergers that I sold for about 100 dollars. Reason given 'No Longer Needed'. The buyer stated that they couldn't follow the details on the dvd well so bought a book instead. I think I know the answer already but do I have any recourse here? This is like going to a movie and asking the theater for your money back because you didn't like it (except the movie doesn't lose half It's value by being opened). Can I fight this or try to give a partial refund or restocking fee? Any advice is appreciated.

I believe that since it has been opened you can withhold up to a 50% restocking fee. You may receive negative feedback from the buyer for doing so, however.

If I were you, I will charge at least 50% restocking fees. Remember to take Photos on what was returned to show and indicate that the item was opened. It will be better if you have the photos on the item when you sent it to the buyer to show that it was shrink wrapped (New). You can use those evidences to fight with the seller in an event there will be A-Z Claim as well as to plea with amazon if you receive a negative feedback. Goodluck.

I had someone order razor blades from me and returned them because she "ordered item by mistake." She had opened the package and sent all of the blades back. This was also a preauthorized return request, and Amazon took the funds out of my payouts for her refund. I sent pictures to Amazon of how she returned the item and let Seller Support know that I can not resell this item. Seller Support reviewed my pictures, sided with me, and gave me my sale proceeds back.

I bought it I watched it and I didn't love it enough to keep it. I would charge 95%

Good luck....ANY SAFE-T claim that they grant will give you nowhere near the value.
Yes, We have that happen from time to time. We once had a sealed DVD returned that it would not play, and the returned disc was marked as a RedBox rental.
Amazon cares more about keeping the dishonest customer happy, than preventing ongoing fraud, we have learned.
To add insult to injury Amazon provides a postage paid return label to them (that they charge US for) and it's like pulling teeth trying to get it back.

You can charge up to 50% with photos when you issue the refund. If it auto refunds, you will have to do a safety claim. Just follow all directions given and provide your photos.

If a media product is requested to be returned as No Longer needed, we notify the buyer immediately that it must be returned in the same new, unopened condition as sent. We include Amazon's actual policy. If the product is returned opened, that is considered fraud and will be reported to Amazon for action on the buyer's account. (Amazon is now blocking buyers who abuse the return system by declining their returns. They can shop, just not return products.)
We do report the actions thru a Safe-T claim, and request the outward shipping, return shipping, and 50% restocking fee reimbursement. We always get it. But depending mean that we may seek other damages by taking the buyer to court, just to teach them a lesson. It is worth the $35.00.
You are a licensed business in your State and your State has laws to protect you from the buy-watch-return scam. Remember, the buyers who use this scam are not scamming Amazon, they are using the Amazon site to scam you.

Good luck with it, but don't expect a lot. It depends on if they allow you to process the return, or if they give the money back and force you into filing a SAFE-T claim. If so, then the chances are great that you will receive less than it is valued. For example, we just had a Tekton punch set returned; the buyer replaced one of the letters with a duplicate in the set, which we proved with the pictures. Of course, with a SAFE-T claim and then a subsequent appeal, we only received a fraction of the value.
