UNGATING PROCESS

Good Day. I've recently opened up an amazon seller account (professional). Went thru the steps in acquiring the programs that will help me sell products such as selleramp and keepa along with some other programs that will help me source. I have capital and time. My problem is the ungating process. It's very discouraging as a new amazon seller NOT to be able to sell any products. Either I'm getting notifications that those brands are not currently accepting applications or The brand in question does not allow for any retail receipt from the stores that are promoted on every platform. Now the ungating process is much harder. Is there a work around? I'm not looking to do any bad business. But right now I feel like I have my hands tied behind my back. Most brands are much more difficult to get ungated. Did I come in too late? I have until Janauary 10th 2025 to figure out how to get these brands ungated. Otherwise I'll be charge the yearly fees for the programs. Is it worth the chance? Can someone shed some light on this process for me? Thank you

RA or OA is no longer an acceptable business practice on Amazon. You need to cultivate a relationship with a brand/manufacturer. Invoices are your only hope; receipts will not be sufficient to prove supply chain.

People have been exploiting RA workarounds for years, and recently Amazon has plugged many of the loopholes such as "buy 10 from a brand's website" or unauthorized product bundles under a custom brand.

SellerAmp and keepa and the masterclass gurus pumping affiliate commissions don't want new sellers to know that, though. So new sellers keep getting burned.

At least your account hasn't been Section 3ed. You can try private label, but that comes with its own set of challenges and will take a lot longer than Jan 10 to spin up.

One point I'll make is that even if a receipt works to get you ungated, it will NOT work when you get any sort of IP complaint about the product.

You need to be sourcing from WHOLESALE distributors, and make sure that you are authorized BY THE BRAND for any branded items you are selling.

The days of building an Amazon based business by sourcing product in stores or online has long passed.

Better to have an established business and bring it too Amazon now or build your own ecom brand...

Hello @Ans_nt,

Amazon requires approval to sell in many categories, brands, and products and in some instances restrictions and policies change. In most situations, a direct invoice from the manufacturer is required. As @Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9 and @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw said, it needs to be a valid invoice directly from the manufacturer and not a receipt.

A letter of authorization (LOA) can also be a valuable addition to your appeal in these situations if you’re sourcing directly from the brand or their manufacturer.
