Weird Amazon bug
I got an order, sent the customer a version of a product that was in the picture. Customers says it's a different product, because she ordered a blue one, but she got a red one.
Well, she is right, because on the listing page it is a blue product, but on the order page it is RED! Why would Amazon switch the picture only for the order page? It makes no sense!
The customer filed a return, Amazon refunded her without asking me. Now I'm out of the product, and out of the money too, even though I made no mistake. Amazon made a mistake. Amazon had a bug for that listing and punishing me for it? I just opened a case, but it's really weird.
Anyone had this issue before? :-/

Wow, that is really bad. I had Amazon remove my medium size offer, from the group of small, medium & large, to make medium a separate item, but this is way worse.
Open a case & get a case # to see if the mods cam help. This is serious if you sell many of them. It would put me out of business with those complaints. Best of luck!

They did admit that Amazon had a glitch. Then they wasted over 105 mins of my life. Then they blamed me somehow and told me that they won't help. I asked about my money. They said they won't help because they won't and that's it. They were even passive-aggressive with me. I mean the website is broken. How is that my fault? Also wasting 105 minutes, instead of looking at it, saying "oh, yeah, it's a buy, here is your money, we are sorry about what happened". The End
It's ridiculous... :-/
They were asking me something packaging. I have no idea what were they talking about. What is that has anything to the fact that the site bugged out? They kept copy-pasting something confusing nonsense to me, I thought there were multiple experts were speaking to each other, but nope. One person was talking to me and kept sending those technical things, expecting that I know what those things are.
Depressing. Wasted time. My money is given away to the customer. The customer ended up gifted away the product to her friend. So she won't send it back to me. I feel scammed....

Anyways, it would be better just saying "we see the bug on the site, we see that Amazon caused an issue and made you lose money, but we won't fix the bug, we won't help you and we won't compensate you, f-u".
And I would say "at least they didn't waste my time".
But it took them 105 minutes to not help and be rude. I could watch a movie, or 2 episodes of a TV show in 105 mins. But I was the naive, thinking that they are going to fix the mess they caused. Nope. They just gave away my product and my money, and they wasted 105 mins of my life.
I don't understand Amazon's logic, at all...
Especially a couple bucks here, a couple there. This time it's a $5 product. I mean really? I made Amazon tens of thousands of dollars in the past 11 years... Basic business 101 would be building good relationship between the corporation and the sellers, since better relationship = more business = more profit and growing market.
Do Amazon need help? I can give a few business ideas. Or I could help with the customer service, because looks like there is a serious issue on that department too, unfortunately. :-(

Just another update. The customer said she liked the product and she gave it to a friend. I asked if she is going to re-pay for it then, since she liked it and kept it. She just ghosted me. No reply at all.
Isn't it scamming? Even though it was Amazon's fault, but the customer is also dishonest and scammed me. This is just wrong...

I had few items with this problem.
I always click on the order's item to go to the page the buyer sees.

It creates returns which Amazon profits more by collecting more fees. We had one an item stated selling like crazy and we caught it before we shipped wrong item out

I see this quite often--I just had one this week, with a book. Amazon has a lot of bugs. Unfortunately, no one wants to fix them. It is now not worth even trying to get them to fix things-- it's too time-consuming and still nothing gets done.
When I list something, I make sure it's the same one that's on the search and also on the main page.

We have seen that problem before as well. Amazon's system is likely pulling the Order's page image from a different location that the Main Product Page Image is pulled from. We have reported this issue before, and will likely see it again. For now we agree with the other comments to check the main product page if you are unsure on an order item. We would also recommend opening a case and reporting the problem to Amazon, The more reports that happen the more likely it will get the attention it needs to fix the problem. We just wish they would fix some of these problems faster.
