USPS shipping adjustment charge $227.95 for 6 oz package

I shipped a package USPS ground advantage.

Paid the normal charge of $4.68

Size of package 9/6/2 weighting 6 oz

USPS audited package at the same size and weight 9/6/2 6 oz

Today I get a shipping adjustment charge of $227.95

There is no way the package could cost $232.63

Talked with Amazon seller support. They told me that I need to deal with USPS .

I tried to file claim with USPS but according to them I must file a claim within 30 days. Package was mailed 5/29 but charge did not show until today 8/29

Any suggestions on my next move

I had this happen to me thru another selling platform. I copied and this information from the USPS web site. Hope it helps.

What do I do if I disagree with the assessment by USPS? • If you disagree with the assessment, follow the instructions on the notice to submit a dispute. - You can open a dispute by contacting USPS by emailing verifypostagehelp(at)usps.gov or directly at 844-819-5187 between 7AM-5PM CT, M-F. - Please prepare to share the following, which can be seen on the notice of shortpaid charges: - Intelligent Mail package Barcode (Tracking) Number – last 4 digits - Revenue Assurance ID - Reason For Dispute - Contact information (name, email, and phone number) • USPS may review all scan data relating to your piece in question, including image analysis, and, if an error in billing has occurred, USPS will work through the PC Postage entity to return the amount in question. How long do I have to submit a dispute? You have 60 days from the date of the notification of the adjustment to file a dispute for a given transaction.

Wow, that's a major one, we keep getting the runaround from USPS and Amazon as well when we try to get refunded for frivolous adjustments.

Since nobody seems to want to take responsibility or explain how these adjustments happen, who is approving them, and why they aren't required to show proof the package not being as labeled. I have a running tally going and have had zero luck getting any charges reversed.

You will need to get the Revenue Assurance ID from Amazon in order to file a Dispute with USPS. Amazon will NOT help you file a dispute. If you can somehow get the Revenue Assurance ID from Support for the order, you can file a dispute with the USPS APV. It's 60 days from the ASSESSMENT of additional charges to file a dispute. But Good luck getting the Revenue Assurance ID from Seller Support. They dont like to help and will just keep telling you its charges levied by USPS and not them. Keep reopening and asking for the Revenue Assurance ID which you absolutely need to dispute any charges. The assessment is already about 30 days past once it hits your amazon account, so you dont have a lot of time to waste with support.

Also, I would contact your local USPS and see if they can pull the IMAGE of the package you sent. You will need this info as part of your dispute. Time is of the essence tho, so don't lolligag around. do it tomorrow (today is a holiday)
