How to change products UPC (GTIN) number for a product?

I recently upgraded my GS1 plan for GTIN's and I need to switch my barcodes over to my new plan. Am I able to change the UPC of my product on Amazon?

I don't see a UPC option under: Edit listing -> Product Details. It only shows the external product ID as the ASIN. My FBA orders are all fulfilled using my UPC codes, so it's super important.

Could I update the UPC on a spreadsheet without deleting the product?

Hello @Seller_D1xcyYL9sCMwL,

Thank you for your question about updating your UPC codes on Amazon. This is a common concern for sellers who have upgraded their GS1 plans. Here's some general guidance that might help:

  1. Changing UPCs: Generally, Amazon does not allow changing UPCs for existing listings. This is because the UPC is a unique identifier for the product.
  2. Creating new listings: If you need to use new UPCs, you may need to create new listings for your products. This ensures that the correct UPC is associated with each product from the start.
  3. Catalog update: In some cases, Amazon may allow updates to product identifiers through a catalog update. This process can be complex and is not always available for all products or situations.
  4. Bulk updates: For multiple products, using the inventory file template to update product information might be an option, but changing UPCs specifically might not be allowed through this method.
  5. Seller Support: Given the importance of this change and its potential impact on your FBA operations, I strongly recommend contacting Seller Support directly. They can provide guidance specific to your account and products.

Remember, making changes to product identifiers like UPCs can have significant implications for your listings and inventory management. Always proceed with caution and seek official guidance from Amazon.

For the most up-to-date and account-specific information, please reach out to Seller Support through your Seller Central account. They can provide you with the best course of action for your particular situation.
