A customer in Nicaragua purchased an item via a Florida forwarding company. The customer requested a return, which was auto-authorized, and a UPS return shipping label was generated.
It's entirely reasonable for us to cover the shipping from the Florida forwarding company back to our location. However, the customer demanded we cover the shipping from Nicaragua to the US. We responded that we can only cover the shipping cost from the Florida forwarding company to our location.
Despite our response, we received negative feedback. We believe it's not our obligation to cover the return shipping from the US to the forwarding company.

You are correct in that it is not your obligation to pay return shipping from other than the delivery address.
There's a teeny tiny chance of strike through if you used Amazon buy-shipping. Depending on just what was said it might be interpreted as being about shipping (strike through for negative feedback all about shipping/delivery is part of the Amazon buy-shipping promise).
